Timeline Planning
Answer a few simple questions first. We will then open only the planner that matches your move.
Is this only one transaction?
Choose yes if you are only buying or only selling. Choose no if you are selling and buying.
HDB selling and buying
Check the two HDB loans first
Your selling and buying loan types determine whether this planner can offer a contra option. If either transaction uses a bank loan, the planner will proceed without contra.
HDB selling and buying
Are you planning to use contra?
HDB's Enhanced Contra Facility may allow eligible sellers to use their sale proceeds and refunded CPF savings for another resale HDB. With contra, the sale completes first and the purchase is planned to complete on the same day.
This is an initial planning choice only. HDB’s current guidance also requires the sale and purchase applications to be submitted together and HDB to act for both transactions. HDB makes the final approval decision.

Important planning notes
The option period uses calendar days. The HDB acceptance field is a planning estimate, and the completion date is estimated at about eight weeks after acceptance.
An HDB temporary extension can be up to three months and remains subject to the buyer’s agreement, eligibility and HDB approval. A private-property extension depends on the agreed contract and should be confirmed with the lawyer.
This planner does not replace a confirmed transaction date, legal advice or financial advice. Transaction timing can change because of document readiness, both parties’ actions and authority processing. Review the current Option to Purchase guidance, completion guidance and extension guidance.
For a selling-and-buying plan without contra, this planner automatically uses a three-week completion gap as a planning buffer for sale proceeds and CPF refunds. The gap is not an official guaranteed processing period and actual timing can differ. Review the current CPF refund timing and the CEA private-property transaction overview with your lawyer and financial adviser.
For HDB-to-HDB plans, the Enhanced Contra Facility may allow eligible households to use sale proceeds and refunded CPF savings for another resale HDB. This planner offers the contra choice only when both the selling and buying sides use an HDB loan or no housing loan. A bank-loan selection is planned without contra, and both loan types must be selected before proceeding. HDB’s current guidance also requires the sale and purchase applications to be submitted together and HDB to act for both transactions. HDB makes the final approval decision. With contra, the planner uses same-day sale and purchase completion. Without contra, it automatically applies a three-week completion gap.
